If you know me at all, you know that music is a huge part of my life. It's something that I will always have a love and passion for. I minored in music in college and for the longest time wanted to work in the music industry. Though my ultimate goal of what I would like to do as a job has changed (I leave the music industry for my dear friend Amanda to take on), music still means the world to me! Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend my seventh Jonny Lang concert.
I first saw Jonny 12 years ago when I was in the sixth grade! I consider that my first concert (although, if you ask my parents an Aaron Tipon concert at a local high school gym was my first however I do not remember it). Since seeing Jonny in the sixth grade, I have been to a few shows. I was part of the Union Board committee for concerts in college and got to help plan, promote, and work the concerts. I really suggest getting involved with committees like that in college if you have any kind of love for music. It's great to see the ins and outs of presenting concerts and also the perks that can come along with are nice (i.e. seeing shows for free, meeting musicians, etc etc). I have seen all kinds of different music genres, shows that were small and intimate and shows that were huge festival headliners; been to venues small and large, outdoor and indoor; shows with my parents and family and shows with my friends; shows I've worked and shows I've promoted. And after all of that, I'm still excited to go to my next show.
I have been taking a little trip down memory lane with the help of my youtube channel that has some of the video clips from shows I went to in college. One day maybe I'll get all that I have on there.
