RIP Dan Wheldon

Once again, today race fans are unwillingly forced to remember that the drivers that make the sport what it is, are not invincible.  Drivers put their lives in danger to compete in a sport they love week in and week out.  I am not a regular IndyCar watcher by any means, casual at best, but I can certainly sympathize with its fans right now.  I grew up watching NASCAR and I can still remember watching the day that Dale Earnhardt lost his life due to a fatal crash on the last lap of the Daytona 500.  I can still remember my dad walking upstairs to the dinner table and telling me the news of his passing.  Whether you have met them as a fan, know them personally, or are family, you all feel the gigantic loss in such an event.  Today, I was saddened to hear the news of Dan Wheldon's passing at such a young age in only his third start to this season.  I leave you with a touching video from the broadcast of the remaining drivers and their 5 lap tribute to their fellow driver.
