I had to work
commencement activities for Ivy Tech on Mother's Day so I was unable to spend
it with my mom and the rest of my family. Instead, Wyatt and I just spend
the evening hanging out with his mom.
Because I couldn't be
there, we decided to postpone our Mother's Day celebration until we could all
be together. The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, I hosted a little late
celebration at my apartment. Mom, Dad, and Allison all came up and we had
lunch at South Street Smokehouse. Then we headed back to my apartment for
a little dessert and gifts. We had cupcakes, popcorn, and lemonade.
We gave mom a necklace that had both of our birthstones on it and a card
letting her pick out a few new hostas. I arranged for all of us and Nancy
to go tour the Frank Lloyd Wright house, Samara, located in West Lafayette that
afternoon. We toured the house and then took mom and dad to the nursery
to pick out mom's new hostas.
It was nice to have them all up here for the day.
