Women's March on Washington: Indianapolis

On January 21st, Wyatt and I went to Indianapolis to take part in the Women's March on Washington event that took place on the Statehouse steps.  I am so very happy that I went.  I had debated back and forth.  I knew that I completely agreed with the causes the event was supporting but just was not sure if I would attend.  Once I decided I would go, Wyatt said he would go with me.  We drove down and stood there in what was such a powerful and moving event.  You could not have asked for better weather on January 21st.

I will say I have been very discouraged as of late when it comes to our political environment in this country and the direction we are taking, but this event was very encouraging and a bright spot.  It was about more than simply women's rights, though those are pretty important to me as a woman. This movement is about human rights and fighting to protect the marginalized, to protect science and the environment, and to protect our great democracy.  I felt very empowered and uplifted at the end of it.  You could say I'm fired up and ready to go.

After the event Wyatt and I had lunch at Black Market.  We had tried to eat there a couple of times with no luck so we were pretty excited to finally try it.  We began with their signature pickles and peanut butter starter.  Wyatt had the signature burger the cassoulet with lamb.
