Wedding Wednesday: My Bachelorette in Chicago

Last weekend was my bachelorette party in Chicago.  We kept it small and stuck to my bridesmaids and Melissa, my old roommate who lives in Chicago.  My matron of honor, Devin, knocked it out of the park planning the best and most perfect bachelorette for me. Amanda flew in for the weekend from New York.  Nichole, Lindsey, Devin, and Allison met at my house and we all rode up to Chicago together on Saturday morning.  We started the weekend with lunch at Shake Shack on Michigan Avenue first.  Because when Devin mentioned drinks at Cindy's Rooftop, I was quick to tell her about the Shake Shack on the ground level of that building. After lunch, we went up for drinks at Cindy's.  I enjoyed a tasty Old Fashioned.  We hung out at the bar with our drinks and then stepped outside for the views.  It was actually fairly comfortable outside at that point.

After drinks we went to the Wndr Museum. This place was SO fun! I had seen that it had a Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirror Room in the exhibits and knew instantly I wanted to try to go there and then I saw what else was there.  This place was like an instagrammer's paradise.  So many photo ops.  It was definitely a fun experience for those who might not normally gravitate towards museums because it was an interactive experience!  The Infinity Mirror Room was so neat but you only get 1 minute inside the room! It's a bit overwhelming knowing you only have 60 seconds inside.  I'm still so glad that I got to see it because I barely missed one of them on exhibit in DC last spring.

You chose the card that went with the color of the bracelet you chose when you began your trip through the museum.

The coolest thing! This screen depicted what was in front of it so as we moved, it moved.
After the Wndr Museum, we went back to our Airbnb to relax and change for dinner.  My sister and maid of honor, had little hangover bags for each of us and the rest of the girls got out some decorations and snacks.  We hung out for a while before we got ready and sipped on some rose.  We also tried these magic berry tablets Amanda bought at the Wndr Museum that were supposed to make things sweeter.  It was quiet amusing.  We didn't think they did too much until we got to dinner later that night, lol.

We got ready and snapped some Instax pictures with props and headed to dinner at Big Star in Wicker Park.  You know I never pass up a chance for tacos! I had the best fish taco there and had to try the al pastor.  We also had chips, salsa, guac, and queso. We popped back by the Airbnb for a hot minute and then left for the final event of the day, an Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness concert at the Riviera Theatre!  It was such a fun show! I loved the set pieces and the way they began the set.  He played a good mix of new songs, Jack's Mannequin, and Something Corporate songs! Amanda was able to get me and herself backstage to meet Andrew really quick after the show too.  It makes the 4th time we've seen him together and the third time we've met him together! He was, as always, the kindest human.

I had such a fun weekend with my favorite girls! I'm so thankful and lucky to have such great friends! The weekend was perfect and I don't think I could have planned it better myself.  Thank you, Devin, and everyone else for making this all happen!
