Holidays 2013

Excuse the delay in posts, but more on why later.  For now, here is a recap of my holiday season festivities.  Right before Thanksgiving I baked and decorated 16 dozen sugar cookies.  This was an enormous undertaking but somehow, I pulled it off with the patience of my parents and a little help from a dear friend.  They turned out better than I could have imagined and I hated to part with the order.  (Truth be told, I never got around to decorating my own cookies after such a massive order)

The cookies were delivered and I headed north for Thanksgiving with Wyatt's family in Lafayette.  We enjoyed time with his family and friends before I returned home.  The following weekend, he made the trip down to go to my company's Christmas party.  We had a great time hanging out with my coworkers in French Lick for the evening and into the night after the official party.  It was such a nice weekend.

The rest of the month was filled with trips out of town, holiday projects, gift making, and a million other things.  It seemed so busy that it flew by so quickly.

Allison was home Christmas Eve so we had our family Christmas that night.  Mom made her delicious Chicago-style pizza.  We ate dinner and then drove around and looked at Christmas lights. We returned home for wassail and cookies before opening our gifts.  Even Sox got a couple of new toys.

I made these for part of Allison's Christmas gift.  Now I need to get on making myself some!

Nichole and I got together for dinner and gingerbread house making again this season.
I hope everyone else had as wonderful of a holiday season as I did this year! As much as I LOVE the holidays, it's always a little bit of relief when New Year's hits and you can finally start slowing down again.
