Folly Favorites: Food

There were so many great places from this trip I could have went on and on with my overview post.  I decided to post a few of my favorite spots from this trip in a separate post.  So here are my favorites from Folly Beach and Charleston from the trip.

Taco Boy (Folly Beach): Best tacos ever!

My favorite was was the baja fish and the Mexican street corn!

Tattooed Moose (Charleston): the perfect lunch spot.

Definitely try the duck fat fries! The garlic aioli is reason enough to get the fries. Pictured above was the delicious hot pastrami. Over the summer, I had an amazing sandwich that was an Italian sandwich with a caprese twist. Wyatt raved about the duck club.

Minero (Charleston): I could eat this everyday (and did two days in a row)!

Chef Sean Brock just recently opened Minero in downtown Charleston.  It has amazing Mexican street food and is pretty neat inside as well.  I got the queso fundido and the rice when we stopped in for lunch and the next day when we had dinner there, I had the burritto and a Michelada. Everything I had was amazing!

Husk (Charleston): As if the restaurant was amazing enough, it also has the most amazing bar detached in an old carriage house--do not skip a trip to either!

Wyatt and I have been a Sean Brock fan since he did Season 2 of Mind of a Chef.  We had been told to go to Husk over the summer but didn't.  This time we were not missing the opportunity.  We had pig's ear lettuce wraps to start the meal.  I got a pork dish that was delicious.  The next night we stopped in to the bar to check it out.  It has a completely different vibe.  I definitely recommend giving both a try.

Surf Bar (Folly Beach): The coolest spot in town (at least it was my favorite).

This was a favorite of both of ours.  We stopped by the first time for drinks after our afternoon bike adventure to see what it was all about.  We had the hummus too. Amazing!  We went back with my family for dinner one night.  They have a small menu but I could tell in my two visits, they do everything well.  I had the best grilled cheese and tomato soup I've ever had when we went for dinner.  It was the perfect way to warm up on a cold night in Folly.

Black Magic Cafe (Folly Beach): Great breakfast joint.

Allison, Wyatt and I had breakfast at Black Magic one morning.  Everything on their menu sounded absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious.

Bert's (Folly Beach): I swear, Bert's is not a place...it's a state of mind.

This market also has an amazing deli that does sandwiches/wraps, salads, soups, breakfast sandwiches, etc etc.  Did I mention the market is open 24/7. The staff is super friendly and the market is just down right cute.  We stopped in several times during our week stay on Folly.
