Folly Favorites: Sites

I promise, I do more than eat on vacation.  Here are a few of my favorite sites, stores, etc. from the trip last week!

Pineapple Fountain (Charleston)

Historic District (Charleston)

King Street (Charleston)

Shop 'til you drop on King Street!

Palm Avenue (Charleston)
A Lilly Pulitzer store on King Street=heaven.

Morris Island Light (Folly Beach)

If you drive (or ride a bike like Wyatt and I did) to one end of the Folly, there is a walking path out to a beach where you can see this lighthouse.  Definitely recommend this short little walk.  The beach on that end of the island is almost deserted.  It was amazing to ride the bikes along.  If you look up at the picture above, you can see the Ravenel bridge in the distance.  Amazing.

Angel Oak (Johns Island)

This massive and very old tree is a sight to see.  It's simply amazing how big this tree is.

Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge (connecting Charleston with Mt. Pleasant)

Palmetto Brewing (Charleston)
Stop by to sample some of their brews and take a brewery tour!

Folly Boat (Folly Beach)

The Folly Boat is a boat that washed ashore during Hurricane Hugo.  Nobody claimed it.  Somewhere along the way, people began to paint messages and pictures on the boat.  This was the boat on our way out to head home in honor of the horrific events at Charlie Hebdo in Paris just days before.
