Washsington, DC: Part 2

The second day of our trip began with a tour of the US Capitol Building bright and early.  They're currently working on the dome so much of what we saw was covered in tarps and scaffolding.  After our tour, we walked through the tunnel across the road to the Library Of Congress.  I had never been inside the Library of Congress. It is quite impressive.

We moseyed over to Eastern Market to check out the market before we went to Banana Cafe.  Next on our agenda was the US Botanical Garden.  On our way to that we stopped by and saw the Democracy Spring protest on the steps of the Capitol.

That evening we ate at another restaurant in our neighborhood called Tupelo Honey Cafe.  It was all southern food.  I loved it! I got a fried chicken salad that was delish.  My favorite part about it was the biscuits and honey and blackberry jam before the meal.
