Washington, DC: Part 1

My parents and I took another long weekend trip to Washington, DC just like we did last April (here, here, and here).  We flew in early on Friday morning and after dropping our bags off at our hotel in Arlington, we hopped on the Metro and made out way to the National Zoo!  The first and main thing on my agenda was the pandas! We got lucky and actually got to see one of the babies out in the habitat.

After the zoo, we stopped for lunch at Fat Pete's BBQ.  I got the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad.  It was so good.  I loved the pork dry as it came but they also had a variety of sauces including Alabama white and a vinegar sauce.  I enjoyed all the sauces I tried.

After lunch, we took the Metro to Dupont Circle and then walked up Embassy Row for the rest of the afternoon.  After strolling along Embassy Row we went back to the hotel and then had dinner in our neighborhood at an Irish restaurant we tried last year, Ireland's Four Courts.

Fish and Chips = yum
