Feel the Bern

Allison and I went to a Bernie Sanders rally at Monument Circle in Indianapolis last night.  It was pretty neat to be able to go and participate in such an event.  I was in college during the big 2008 election but didn't really take advantage of all the candidates coming through our state to campaign before the primaries.  Several candidates made quick appearances in my town but I was unable to attend anything so when Allison asked me to come to Indianapolis and go to Bernie's rally with her, I was more than happy to attend with her.

We thought it might rain on us but the sprinkles dissipated quickly and it was dry.  After the rally, we walked over to Bourbon Street for dinner before I headed home.  It was a fun experience that I hope many will get to experience at least once in life.  Many people in our country get turned off on politics.  And I agree that there are so many problems that need to be fixed with the political circuit alone that sometimes I too am turned off by politics.  The thing to remember is that it might be a circus out there but we are still very lucky to live in a country where this is possible.  The only way to let your voice be heard is by voting, spreading the word about voting, and being an active participant in our political system.
