As I it here reading stories of the tragic events from that day 15 years ago, I may be saddened and moved to tears but I'm reminded of the spirit of Americans. So many risked and ultimately lost their lives trying to save others. On this day and always we honor those who lost their lives and those who fought to get strangers to safety at the risk of their own safety.
I have been fortunate enough to visit the memorial at Ground Zero and the memorial at the Pentagon, as well as an exhibit on 9/11 at the Newseum. All were very moving experiences.
I still vividly remember almost that entire day. May we never forget and always honor the brave men and women who lost their lives, those who survived, and those families ripped apart by tragedy.
