'Tis the Season 2016

'Tis the Season
Confession: I still haven't finished my Christmas shopping.  This is so unlike me.  I generally get it all completed and have wrapped my gifts to sit pretty under the tree by now.  With my trip and our move, I've been a bit behind schedule.  One of my priorities after our move a week ago was to get out the Christmas decoration and get a tree up.  This is my favorite time of year and I love going all out so it was a must. I had the tree up before I had all the boxes unpacked.  I love our tree and how special the ornaments and tree topper on it are to us. Aside from some of the glass ball ornaments we use as fillers, the rest are all meaningful ornaments given to us, passed down to us, or purchased together on trips.  My mom let me have the tree topper a few years back.  It is one my parents bought for their tree the 2nd Christmas they were married.

Have yourself a merry Lilly Christmas

We have been in a one bedroom apartment for the past three years, so we knew now that we have a bit more space we wanted to host a get together.  Wyatt and I both love entertaining so we invited all our friends over for a Christmas party.  Despite the ice storm that hit our area the night before, most of our friends managed to safely get to our house.  We were sad to miss a few but glad everyone was safe.  We had some cheese, sausage, and crackers and made meatballs, my mom's famous cheese ball, and a buffalo chicken pasta salad.  Nichole brought some "white trash" and cupcakes and Connie and Patrick brought over a veggie tray. We ordered pizza and had a good time eating, drinking, and socializing before we had a White Elephant and played a game of Celebrity.

We had so much fun hosting everyone and can't wait to have another get together!
