On Saturday, we went to Indianapolis to celebrate my mom and my sister's birthdays. We met at Allison's apartment and then we walked downtown for lunch at
Nada. I got the quesadilla "taco" salad.
After lunch we walked back to Allison's and visited for a while before giving the birthday girls their gifts and having some cake. I decided to save time and stress, I would order their birthday cake. I had originally planned on making it and decorating it with real flowers but opted to order it from a local bakery instead. I took in a picture of cake decorated with icing flowers that I had found on
Pinterest and I was blown away with how good
Mammaw's Sweet Shoppe did! I did put together the flowers for the day though. I grabbed a few different bunch of flowers from the store and put them all together in some of my milk glass the night before our get together. I pulled a few other serving pieces together to create this vintage and floral masterpiece. I matched our gift wrap with my colors and coincidentally, mom ended up matching it perfectly without even knowing!
That cake!!! So beautiful. It was a great day.
