Hangout Festival 2017

Hangout Festival
Wyatt gave me Hangout Festival tickets for Christmas so we made the road trip down to Gulf Shores last weekend!  I had so much fun experiencing a new music festival, especially since it was on the beach!  We stayed in a condo in Orange Beach and took the shuttles each day to the festival in Gulf Shores.  The condo was great and the shuttles were surprisingly easy to use without too much of a wait at any given time.  We got to the festival in the early afternoon on Friday and managed to see Cash Cash, Mac DeMarco, Andrew McMahon, MGMT, Weezer, Phoenix, and Dillon Francis.  We did a lot of jumping around and only caught a couple songs by some artists to make the others work but it was great. We ate at the Hangout restaurant in the festival that night to give our feet a little break.

On Saturday, we had brunch at Brick and Spoon in Orange Beach and just managed to beat the crowd!  We had been checking the weather which called for storms so after seeing Local Natives and a song or two by Snakehips, we decided to get on the shuttle and go back to the condo for a bit.  We were worried that if it stormed and they evacuated the festival, it would be difficult to get back to the condo.  We ended up not going back to the festival that day but had dinner at a wings place just down the road from our condo.  As soon as we got back to the condo it started storming.

Sunday's forecast was actually the worst of the festival but the weather ended up holding out for us.  It was a bit cooler and very cloudy but no rain or storms.  We had lunch at Cosmos before we went back to the festival.  We did a lot of stage hopping on Sunday.  We saw Strand of Oaks, Bob Moses, Lukas Graham, Matoma, Lil Yachty, Young the Giant, NGHTMRE, Chance the Rapper, and Mumford and Sons.  Chance and Mumford were my two favorite of the festival!

I think we both agreed that we had a great time and will definitely considering returning.  I was very impressed with the festival as a whole.  It was well managed, fairly clean, and the sound quality was great! The shuttles were great.  We also rented a locker (with access to charging stations).
