Yesterday, I spend the afternoon with Allison in Indianapolis. We wanted to try a new restaurant that had opened recently, Next Door Eatery. We had lunch there before spending some time on the Monon Trail and stopping at a few places along the way
Next Door Eatery has a great concept. The food is sourced from American farmers. They also have some environmentally-friendly practices that makes them great including composting and recycling. They partner with the Kitchen Community, a non-profit that builds learning gardens classrooms in school. I love supporting an organization dedicated to the environment and the community it serves! I had Merlin's Carolina Pork sandwich, a tasty pulled pork sandwich full of flavor.
After lunch Allison and I walked a few blocks over to the Monon Trail for a stroll. We wanted to see some of the public art close to that area and some of the shops nearby. We stopped at the Gallery Pastry Shop (hint: the case is pretty empty come Sunday afternoon as they aren't open on Mondays), Locally Grown Gardens, and Tiny House Treats. It was a gorgeous day so it was great to be able to spend some relaxing time outside.
