Summer in Lafayette

We had a rare weekend with no plans and we took full advantage of it to have the most relaxing weekend in ages! We woke up and decided to go downtown for the Farmers' Market and breakfast.  We grabbed some sweets from a couple of our favorite local bakeries, a new mug, and leg of lamb for Father's Day!  We had a late breakfast/early lunch at Triple XXX.  We ran some more errands before heading home with stops at Lowes and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  We decided to have a date night Saturday night.  We had dinner and a drink downtown at East End Grill.  I tried the Boulevardier cocktail and it was perfect!  I had the ribs and Wyatt got the shrimp and grits.  Everything is always so tasty at East End.  Pro tip, get the rib basket for less food! Half a rack of ribs is plenty for me.

It was a pretty night so we decided to take a walk on campus.  I like to take walks at dusk and the early nighttime hours on campus during the summer when there are not a ton of people around.  It was humid and it was cool enough to really enjoy some time wandering.  We even took a pit stop to check out a new spot on campus.

Yesterday was spent mostly being lazy and it was glorious!  I took some things to donate to Goodwill but other than that just hung out around the house reading and enjoying some down time.  We had dinner with Wyatt's parents last night and enjoyed some time visiting with them. On our way home from their house, we stopped and got Silver Dipper ice cream because Wyatt had been craving it for a while.  I can't ever decide what kind to get because they have too many options so last night I got three mini scoops! We took the scenic route back to the house and enjoyed some music and windows down driving.
