Snow

We had the prettiest snow today! It coated everything in such a pretty, fluffy snow. We have not had much snow this winter and though I am ready for spring, this was just too pretty. The view of campus from my window and my boss's office at work was amazing.  We have such a pretty quad on campus.  It's easy to find beauty in it during each season.

Annual Fall Golden Hour Date + Fall in Lafayette

We made time yet again to head out to Clegg Memorial Garden after work one evening to walk around and enjoy it at the golden hour when the foliage is pretty.  The weather was perfect for our date this year.  The trees were more vibrant than last year and it was such a nice and relaxing evening. They have made some great updates at Clegg since last fall.  I hope to make it back this Spring when the daffodils are blooming to enjoy it again!

We also recently spent some time out at the Celery Bog Nature Area in West Lafayette.  Wyatt took some family photos for our friends and I tagged along.  It was so warm and the leaves were just getting ready to turn.  I love this little area. It's so peaceful!

Bask Aroma Co

Last weekend, after we went to Exploration Acres and had lunch, we went to Bask Aroma to make candles! Bask Aroma is a new candle making shop in Lafayette. It was my first time at a shop like this but I have been dying to try it so I am thrilled there is now a shop in town that does this.  The ladies working the day we went were so nice and we had the best time.  When you arrive, they walk  you through the process and have you fill out a sheet with your favorite scents out of their many, many different scents.

Once you have selected your favorites, you head up to the counter and the staff assists you through the remaining steps.  You select up to 3 scents to combine.  They pull the bottles from behind the counter and walk you through how to smell them each individually and together.  They then instruct you to fill a jigger full with whatever combination you would like.  It kinda of an experiment.  You pour some oils in and stir and smell and adjust until you fill the jigger to the top.

Wyatt and I started the experience planning to make only one candle but when we combined a few of our favorite scents, we decided to go ahead and make another because we weren't totally satisfied with our first scent.  It reminded us a bit of soap.  It was a fresh scent that I actually really like now that we have the candle back! Our second candle, however, was a masterpiece and PERFECT for the upcoming holiday season! It takes two hours for your candles to set and get the finishing touches.  I picked up our candles the next day they were open and they even come in the cutest little packaging with care instruction card and your original card that you filled out as you picked out scents.

The shop is so cute.  They have a selection of wine and small bites you can order while you are there.  They even have a cute sitting area that you can use while there, perfect for hosting showers and small outings.  One of the ladies even offered to take a group picture of us all in front of their backdrop.  I am already looking forward to going back and adding this to the list of things to do with out-of-town guests.  Besides candles, you can also make wax melts, room sprays, and bath and body products.
