I should have been in Charleston this week with my family. I had shortened my originally planned trip due to Sox's health condition but was set to fly down on Wednesday with my sister. When we found out some terrible news about him, I decided it was best for me to cancel altogether. This bummed me out for several reasons. Not only was my poor little guy not doing well which made me very sad, but I was also missing out on a family trip to my favorite city.
Wyatt took it upon himself to try to cheer me up and treated me to a special few nights. He planned out a few different meals just like some of our favorite places in Charleston and Folly Beach. He also surprised me with a few gifts along the way. He got me South Carolina coasters, Southern Gate earrings (that coordinate with a necklace I already own of the Angel Oak), and a Charleston map etched wine glass to go along with the special meals. I'm lucky to have such a kind and thoughtful man in my life! If I couldn't be in Charleston with my family, at least I got to spend extra time with my fur baby and get spoiled by my fiancé.
The first night he recreated our favorite place on Folly Beach with a menu inspired by Surf Bar, PBR, and a surf movie. The second day he recreated my favorite drink and wings from Minero and street corn from Taco Boy. Lastly, he made shrimp and grits using grits he ordered from Edisto!
We already planned on having brunch (shrimp and grits, bacon, etc.) and decided to make it a get together with Connie and Patrick. They came over and we hung out while Wyatt cooked for us. We had coffee and mimosas and then we decorated Christmas cookies after we ate. After cookie decorating we played some Jackbox games on the PlayStation. It was a very fun day and Sox was even in good spirits and social!
