Dave Matthews Band

We have been wanting to see Dave Matthews Band the last few summers and it just never worked with our schedule or we had plenty of other things going on and decided we need to pass.  We decided we would go to see them this summer but then the timing of the Indianapolis show just wasn't good for us.  We HAD to take advantage of the fact that it wasn't raining that weekend to stain our deck finally.  Instead of Indianapolis, we were able to see them up in Wisconsin at Alpine Valley. It was Wyatt's first time seeing them and I hadn't seen them since 2008. We decided to leave earlier than necessary and stop in Chicago on our way up.  We did a mini food tour. We had tacos at Big & Littles and then stopped for a Chicago Dog and Italian sausage.

We checked into our hotel and then made the drive over to Alpine Valley.  It was our first time at the venue and I love it.  It was such a pretty setting.  The weather was perfect and we had such a good night.  Preservation Hall Jazz Band opened and they even came out for a song with DMB.  I am so glad we finally got to see them together because it was a great concert.

On Sunday, we decided to have brunch in Chicago and did just a tiny bit of walking around in the Logan Square neighborhood.  We tried Longman and Eagle.  It was 10/10.  We dined on their patio and it was just the perfect morning for brunch outside.  I had the PBR breakfast and Wyatt got the biscuits and gravy.  I also ordered some grits that we shared.  Wyatt took the opportunity to browse their whiskey selection and ended up having a Pappy Van Winkle 15 year.
