Feast of the Hunters' Moon

Wyatt and I finally made it back to the Feast of the Hunters' Moon last week! It's a weekend long celebration and historic reenactment of what life was like at Fort Quiatenon, the first fortified European outpost in what is now Indiana.  I had only been one other time a few years ago and the weather was cold and rainy so we didn't have the best experience.  We decided to go out early on Sunday morning and we were able to see the opening ceremonies.  We also got to see the landing of the Voyageurs! We didn't see any of this the last time we went so I was happy to get to see it this year. We walked around and took in the sights and the booths.

We also ate! We couldn't miss out on the opportunity to get some of the great food they have at the Feast of the Hunters' Moon! We split an apple dumpling (my favorite thing there) and some noodleables.  Wyatt also got some chicken and I got a miniature squash pie.

The weather ended up being perfect! We parked at Purdue's stadium and paid to take the CityBus shuttle. It was so easy and a breeze to get in and out of because of the shuttle. We spent a few hours there before we called it a day.  Next year, if we go, I want to see more of the demonstrations and performances!  It also gave me a hankering to go back to Williamsburg and the northeast for colonial history.
