Wyatt and I celebrated our second anniversary at the end of April. Truth be known, we don't actually know when exactly we officially started dating. We have a general idea of the time frame though so we just decided to pick a weekend and devote it to our anniversary. We decided we'd forego gifts and just take a day trip or a quick weekend trip somewhere. My original suggestion was a trip up to the dunes but as the weekend drew nearer it was apparent it was going to be quite chilly up there. We decided on Louisville for the weekend. Not only do we (I) really love Louisville, but it also has some special sentimental value as well.
We got up and left in time to arrive to the Lou for lunch. Wyatt had made us dinner reservations at Marketplace Restaurant in Theater Square for Saturday night so I suggested one of my favorites that I was sure Wyatt would love for lunch. We made our way to Marks Feed Store on Bardstown Road (sadly my absolute favorite store ever, Ear X Tacy, is no longer next door). Lunch was a success! After lunch we drove around Cherokee Park. I don't know how I managed to miss this park for so long. It was absolutely wonderful and I just loved the surrounding neighborhood. I could definitely day dream about living next to the park like that. After that I got to go to the Peppermint Palm at the Vogue. What more is there to say? It is a Lilly Pulitzer. I was in heaven. I had fun trying on a few items I have been lusting over and even got a skort I had been eyeing from the spring line on sale!
We headed over to NuLu and went in a couple of shops, Why Louisville and Scout, and then had a drink at Garage Bar. We went and checked into our hotel and freshened up before dinner. We had another drink outside at BBC across the street from our restaurant and enjoyed the perfect weather! At dinner we got truffle fries as an appetizer. Our waiter warned us that they were evil. We quickly learned why. They were so delicious and there were so many but it was hard to stop eating them. Luckily our food came out shortly after. Wyatt got the 48 hour short rib and I got the housemade ricotta gnocchi. Mine was heavenly and Wyatt enjoyed all of his as well.

The following day we went and had lunch and a good visit with Wyatt's grandma, Judy, in Jeffersonville. Another perfect weather day. We had lunch outside on the river with the Louisville skyline as the backdrop. Perfect ending to a wonderful weekend.
