Our Baby Shower

My best friend hosted a drive by baby shower.  When she originally asked, we had no clue what things would look like in terms of Covid-19 when it came time for a shower so we decided to go with a shower by mail and a drive by shower option. She had the cutest Lilly inspired invitations made and they were perfect!

Devin planned a very special shower for us complete with a pop-up tent for our front yard and favors for friends and family that stopped by.  Luckily, by the time the shower rolled around I believe everyone was fully or at the very least partially vaccinated! Both sets of our parents and Allison came.  Allison helped Devin set everything up.  We had a few visitors stop by include family, family friends, and one of our dear friends in town.  We enjoyed getting a good visit with my aunt and uncle who made the trip up to spend the weekend in town.  We hadn't seen them since Christmas of 2019!  I only wish we had made a point to get pictures with everyone as they stopped by....I didn't even get a picture with Wyatt! 

We feel especially lucky to have so many loving family and friends in our lives who are already making sure to show their love for our baby girl.  We have been extremely spoiled with gifts, words of encouragement, and helpful tips to help us welcome her into the world! We are ready for her arrival a month or so!

Farmers' Market Saturdays

We love our local farmers' market!  Life has been busy lately so last weekend was the first chance we had to go to our market this year but we took full advantage of the morning.  We grabbed some fresh produce, some break and yummy baked goods, and lamb chops!

We also took the opportunity to check out some of the art downtown.  They have been working on a project on our Main Street that had me avoiding the area because of construction but it's turned out so nice.  They bumped out the sidewalks to allow for some of the restaurant to have outdoor seating.  Since I hadn't been downtown much for quite some time, it was fun to find some new (at least new to me) alley art.  There are also a couple of new sculptures and murals throughout the downtown area.  I can't wait to go back downtown and check everything else out!

And although this is not new, it's still one of my favorites to come to our downtown area.

National Lobster Day

Today is apparently National Lobster Day.  Who knew?! All these posts are making me wish I could get a decent lobster roll here.  It sounds so good!   In honor of National Lobster Day, Lilly Pulitzer released it's summer pop-up, an update to the favorite Lobstah Roll print! I am really loving this Captain's Popover and how great that it has UPF 50+ protection!

On the Go: Packing for a Music Festival on the Beach

Wyatt and I are headed down to Gulf Shores for Hangout Fest this weekend and we are so excited to experience a new music festival together down on the beach!  Wyatt gifted me the festival tickets for Christmas.  We're staying in a condo on the beach and I can't wait to dig my toes into the sand and see some good music live!  Being the planner and packer that I am, I've been thinking about what to take for the last month or two.  Here are some of my top picks for what to pack for the beach music festival.

I am packing lots of lightweight pieces and a lot of sunscreen.  The forecast right now is calling for some rain/scattered storms.  Crossing my fingers for the best luck and only storms in the mornings, if at all.  It will be an adventure, I am sure.

IU Day 2017

Last year, the IU Foundation began what they call IU Day.  It's basically 24 hours to share your love of all things IU, celebrate the great things happening at IU and donate to a variety of causes at IU.  To celebrate the day, I switched out the bar cart to all things IU!

We actually just had lunch and a quick stop in Bloomington over the weekend on the way to visit my Papaw.  I couldn't resist a lunch at Kilroys and a photo op at the Sample Gates!  Happy IU Day!

Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals!

Y'all the Lilly Pulitzer new arrivals are everything!  I am in love with so many of the great pieces in the Spring Break Sunseekers collection.  I picked out my favorites below.  As you might notice, I'm totally digging the Toucan Green Coco Loco print.  Give me everything in it.  So many fun details and, as always, bright and cheery colors and prints to send us into spring and summer! I'm looking at the 3" Kya Beach Short for our Hangout Festival trip in May.  Swing on over to Lilly Pulitzer because today they have gifts with purchase!

Gift Guides

It's that time of year again!  Gift guides are starting to come out from my favorite retailers and bloggers preparing for the holiday season.  I may have slipped down the rabbit hole over the weekend and shopped for Christmas decor.  Let me just say, I am totally ready for Christmas everything.  While I still love and cherish Thanksgiving, I am just ready for Christmas and the magic that comes with the holiday.  Because of when we visited Charleston last December, I didn't have the time to decorate and do some of my favorite holiday traditions.  This year, my trip to Charleston is earlier so I should be able to do more, but we are moving two weeks before Christmas so we'll still be on a shortened schedule.  In the meantime, I'll just be lusting over all the gift guides that are out already.  I picked a few items from my favorite gift guides below.
