Day Trip: Beaufort, SC

As I mentioned earlier this week, we took a day trip down to Beaufort, South Carolina when we were in Charleston.  A blogger I have followed for several years is originally from there, moved back for a brief time, and speaks very highly of it.  It had been on my list of possibilities for our drive between Savannah and Charleston during our Summer 2014 vacation but it didn't make the cut.  This family vacation, we decided it would be a nice little day trip to drive down and visit the historic city.  We made it to Beaufort in the early afternoon.  After parking on Bay Street, we walked around just a bit before stopping in at Common Ground Coffeehouse to grab some lunch.  After lunch we walked around the historic district and shopped in a couple of shops and took in the sights.  There are so many cute historic homes there.  The town has a quaint feel and definitely a lot of southern charm.
