MOM'S 2013 Party Gras Masquerade

We hosted the annual MOM'S party/benefit over the weekend.  This year the theme was shifted a bit, from the traditional Mardi Gras party, to an "All Holiday" party.  Mom and Aunt Brenda decorated the tables with various holiday themes and we asked that guest dress up for their favorite holiday.  Our menu fit for a 4th of July barbecue consisted of pulled pork, brats, and grillers with sides of potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, chips, and veggies.  I put together a 4th of July themed dessert table with lots of tasty treats.  The party had entertainment provided by the Lick Creek Band and we had a silent auction with all kinds of wonderful goodies.  After weeks of planning and preparing, it was a big success.

Our welcoming table was appropriately themed with Mother's Day | Chalkboard Tutorial coming soon!

Memories of Our Mothers Scholarship

I'm proud to announce that last night my dad presented the second annual $500 scholarship on behalf of MOM'S to a deserving member of the PHS senior class.  The scholarship was established in the memory of both of my grandmothers and my uncle's mother by my parents and my aunt and uncle. Congratulations Gracen and good luck in the next chapter of your life!

We have created a tradition of hosting a party for all of our wonderful friends and family who help make my parents' and my aunt and uncle's vision of continuing the legacy of caring and sharing possibly.  What began as family gathering to celebrate birthdays under the ruse of a Mardi Gras party eventually turned into our annual event.  After a couple of years with the expanded guest list and Mardi Gras theme, this year the annual MOM'S event is branching out.  We're hosting an 'ALL HOLIDAY' party.  I'm looking forward to seeing all the creativity this year, visiting with friends and family, and continuing the tradition of generosity.

PS.  Check out how good my dad looks! I'm proud of him for his successful weight loss.  Keep up the great work, dad!

MOM'S Mardi Gras 2012

We have this scholarship that my dad and Aunt B started, Memories of Our Mothers, in memory of both my wonderful grandmothers and my aunt's mother-in-law, all were such special ladies.  A way to celebrate this scholarship and all of our mothers came about through a Mardi Gras themed party we had already had two years with family.  Last year, the third year, the guest list was expanded and the scholarship in the process of being created.  This year we had an even bigger guest list, live entertainment, a silent auction, photo booth and of course the signature Cajun food.
