Birthday Weekend at Home

Back in February, Wyatt, Allison, and I went home for a weekend before my birthday.  We picked Allison up on our way down south and headed for my Papaw's house.

We managed an afternoon visit with him and my parents before going home to Washington. We had dinner at Mi Pueblo (my favorite) and then Allison, Wyatt, and I went to see Jon McLaughlin perform at my old high school.

Talk about weird.  I had not been in any part other than the gym since I graduated.  After an intimate show, we decided to wonder the halls and see how things had changed since we left (they renovated not long after I graduated). Of course, since we were there we also had to walk out on the gym floor.  It is still hard to believe we went to school and had that gym growing up.

We returned home for delicious homemade chocolate cake made by mom for a little birthday celebration.   The next morning, we got up and headed back north. The three of us decided we would have a late lunch at Bakersfield on Mass Ave.  It was delicious and the perfect way to cap off an overall great weekend with my family.

Father's Day

Since Allison has to work on Father's Day weekend, we decided to celebrate it this weekend in Indianapolis.  We went to Bakersfield on Mass Ave for lunch.  Wyatt even met us for lunch!  I had the Pollo Verde and the fish tacos, both were delicious.

After lunch we headed over to the Eiteljorg Museum to see their Roundup to Rockers exhibit.  It was a pretty interesting exhibit with some interesting guitars.  We browsed through some of the rest of the museum as well before we headed back to Allison's apartment for homemade peach cobbler with butter pecan ice cream.
