John Butler Trio

Continuing on with our next concert, we saw John Butler Trio at the Garfield Park amphitheater the other night.  JBT is Wyatt's favorite so we were thrilled when we heard they were coming to Indy and playing the quaint little park amphitheater.  We fell in love with the venue last year at Holler on the Hill.  John has a new backing band but the show was nothing less than we expected from him!  We met up with Allison and went to the new Fountain Square location for Upland Brewing and had a quick dinner before we all went to the show.  It's such a cute new spot.  I love Fountain Square so much and am always happy to stop by when we have the chance.

John Butler Trio

Wyatt and I saw John Butler Trio in Chicago last Thursday night at the Chicago Theatre.  It was the second time we seen them this year.  We saw them in St. Louis back in July.  We made the quick trip up and made it just in time to catch the last song from the opener.

John played so many songs off his newest album.  It was a great show and we made it home earlier than we had anticipated so it was a win-win.  We got to see some of the city decorated for Christmas on our drive in too so that was fun.  We passed the Christmas Tree in Millennium Park and the ice rink. The lions outside the Art Institute were dressed with wreathes with red bows too!

John Butler Trio

Wyatt and I took a little road trip to St. Louis yesterday to see John Butler Trio again.  STL is the closest they came to us this tour.  We took advantage of having some extra time to spend in the city and explored at the Arch and at Forest Park.  We had dinner at Salt + Smoke in the Delmar Loop neighborhood (such a fun neighborhood!) before going in at the Pageant for the show.  We arrived in time to see most of the opener, Mama Kin Spender.  This duo was so fun. I love them!

We ended up being about three rows from the stage for both the opener and JBT.  It was such a great set and fun night.  Last summer we saw them at a sold out show in Grand Rapids and had to get a spot to the side where we couldn't even see the band on stage for most of the show so it was fun being able to get so close last night.
