Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Butkus!

Last weekend we went up to Libertyville, Illinois to celebrate as Melissa and Andrew got married! It's the first wedding we have been to since ours so it gave me all the feels.  We are so happy for them and wish them all the best! It was amazing to see all of our college friends.  I think it was the first time all of us girls had been in the same place since Devin's wedding.  Melissa's wedding was at Independence Grove Nature Preserve and the venue was stunning.  The setting was gorgeous and I love the personal touches they added to their vows, drinks, dances, and speeches.  My favorite part was that King (Mel's dog) had a drink named after him.

On Sunday before we drove home, we made a quick stop in the city for some deep dish at Pequods. I hadn't had deep dish in forever.  It was so good. We got cheesy garlic bread to hold us over until our pepperoni pizza arrived. We had planned to go on a photo adventure in the city but we were too tired and decided to get home to Maggie instead.

Congratulations Beth and Shawn!

Congratulations to one of my college roomies and her new husband! We had so much fun celebration Beth and Shawn  over the weekend.  Beth and Shaw tied the knot at the Indianapolis Public Library's Central Library in downtown Indianapolis and it was so pretty!  It was so great to have a lot of our college gang back together drinking, dancing, and having fun.

Best Friends

Yesterday we went to Indianapolis to celebrate our friend Todd's 30th birthday with everyone.  It was great to be able to get together with almost all the girls (we missed Dana, Devin, and Morgan) as well as all their guys!  We all hung out at Beth and Shawn's house before going out downtown to Punch Bowl Social. It's been a while since this many of us were in one place at the same time so we had to get a group picture. I love these girls and the guys so much!

Also, yesterday morning I got my hair done.  I was on the fence of exactly what I wanted so I talked over all my options with my stylist and she just took it from there.  In the end it came out perfect!  I wanted something new for spring/summer.  It's so much lighter than I thought I'd ever be comfortable with when I started this hair color journey but I love it!

Four Day Ray Brewing

I was lucky enough to be able to have dinner in Indianapolis with some of my best friends.  Morgan and Jessica and Danny were all in Indiana for the holidays so some of us got together for dinner.  We tried Four Day Ray Brewing in Fishers.  It was so great to see everyone, especially the folks who live out of the state and I don't get to see nearly enough.  The building was pretty neat inside with an additional bar upstairs and a separate tasting room.  I had a burger and their Laplander Blonde.

10 Years Later

Ten years ago we were moving into the dorms at IU, last night some of our group was able to meet for dinner in Indy as Morgan was in from Denver this weekend.  In 10 years time, we have added the best guys to our group and a few sweet little guys.  So much love in my heart for this group plus the those girls (and guys!) no able to attend dinner last night!

Surprise: Happy Birthday, B!

We decided to throw Beth a surprise birthday party!  Jen and Billy hosted us and Beth thought she was just coming over for dinner with a couple of other people but we were all there waiting!  We even managed to facetime in Morgan and Dana who live in Denver and Louisiana.  I'm just really impressed that we managed not to blow the surprise while juggling our regular group chat and the secret group text to plan it.

The cutest little boys posing together for a picture.

We enjoyed the night of pizza, drinks, and friends.  Games and a dance party were clearly a necessity.  We headed home in the wee morning hours and Nichole visited the rest of the weekend.  What a fun weekend hanging out with my BEST friends!

Ed Sheeran

Last night we went to Indy and saw Ed Sheeran at Klipsh (aka Deer Creek) with my friends.  We try to get the group together for a summer concert every so often.  We hadn't been in two summers and this year we decided to go see Ed.

The concert was sold out.  I have been to sold out shows at that venue before but none have seemed quite as packed as last night.  It was crazy!  He didn't tour with a band for backup, but instead he uses pedals and loops to do everything himself.  Those techniques have always impressed me so it was a pleasant surprise to find this out when I got there.  He was so fun.  He even came out for his encore in an Andrew Luck jersey.

Weekend Recap: Besties in Louisville

Morgan host my a reunion at her place in Louisville over the weekend.  There were 8 of us in one apartment.  We were only missing two ladies who just couldn't make it for the weekend.  It is extremely rare that we even get that many together.  It definitely takes a lot of planning ahead!  I went down with some of the girls on Saturday afternoon.  We hung out at Morgans that afternoon until time to go out for dinner.  She took us to the Silver Dollar.  I love, love, loved this place!

I had to try a Kentucky Mule since Morgan highly recommended it. It was a twist on a Moscow Mule with Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, ginger syrup, lime and so delicious!  The sweet potato fries and fried pickles were really good.

After dinner, Morgan took us to Drakes and Molly Malones in the St. Matthews neighborhood. On Sunday, we hung out for a bit before going to brunch in the Highlands neighborhood (one of my faves in the city) at El Camino.  Yum! I'm so glad we ended up there.  They have one of the best brunches in the city.  Being the biscuits and gravy lover that I am, I couldn't pass up the biscuits and chorizo gravy! But this place has all the tacos I love, so I had to try at least one taco while there. I got the Al Pastor.  It was all delicious.  I have already put this on a list of must visits when I'm back this summer for Forecastle.
It was so good to hang out with the gang again!  I was welcomed home to some of the pretties tulips and peonies (which are my favorites).  I also found this absolutely perfect buzzfeed article last night about missing living with your college friends. They're good and so true!
