Wedding Wednesday: Reception Decor Inspiration

Wedding Wednesday: Reception Decor Inspiration
Happy Wednesday! Today I'm here to talk about reception décor.  I've mentioned before that I didn't initially have a concrete vision of what I wanted the reception to look like.  Then it all kind of just came to me.  It is ever evolving as we talk about things, see new ideas, etc. but the basic high level view is the same.

I'm envisioning light blue and white table linens and napkins.  We would like a lot of greenery and white flowers and have recently decided we may want some pops of pale yellows, oranges, pinks, etc. to add some color.  Wyatt came up with the idea of incorporating milk glass into table décor because I LOVE milk glass and have quite a bit of it already. We have some neat ideas as to how we would like to incorporate our love for travel together into the décor.  Overall, I want it to feel very light and airy and romantic but still fun.

I can't wait to see our vision come to life!

Party Inspiration: Lilly Pulitzer Christmas

I had intended for this post to go live last week but it seems I never scheduled it to post.  Last week I went with my family on a holiday vacation to Charleston, South Carolina.  We rented a place on Folly Beach just like last year.  I have been itching to do a Lilly Pulitzer inspired party and took this as my opportunity to throw together a holiday dinner party at our rental for my family.  Check back later this week to see all the details of how it turned out.

I put together a little Pinspiration for a Lilly Pulitzer inspired dinner party for the holidays.  In case you haven't noticed, Lilly Pulitzer is my absolute favorite.  The fun colors and exotic designs are the best mood lifter.  You can't help but smile and be in a good mood with the fun prints and colors.  I have loaded a board on Pinterest with tons of ideas for table settings, DIY, treats, and more.  Obviously, Lilly was the Queen of pink and green so those are the main colors I would work with when putting together a Christmas dinner party.  Think of it as a girly version of the traditional red and green Christmas colors.

Since my family will be staying on an island, I thought I'd play up the beach theme as well.  My DIY projects for this dinner consist of shells, salt dough, and gold leaf pens.  I can't wait to put it all together and share with you the finished product!  Until then, be sure to check out all the inspiration on my Pinterest board!

Party Inspiration: Kate Spade

I put together a little inspiration board on Pinterest with more ideas and links to tutorials on some cute DIY projects.  I love how bright, cheery, and fun the brand is.  It makes for the perfect inspiration for a chic birthday party for people of all ages.  Bold pink, gold, and black and white are my go to colors in the KSNY branding but the rainbow palette is amazing too.

All the cute sayings and quotes that Kate Spade has are perfect to incorporate into your party through your invitation, signage, banners, etc. We all know about their love affair with bows.  When looking at KSNY inspired parties, a recurring theme was a napkin done in a bow on the place setting.  I absolutely love this idea!
